Want some more? aaahh.mmmmm. This is delicious. woop, get get those fingers out of your mouth. thaaaank you. mm. dessert.

• 15 lbs. 12 oz. (20 %)
• 26 3/4 inches
• loves to kiss.
• prefers to suck the index finger and middle finger on his right hand instead of a binkie, especially when he wants to go to sleep. we still try and get him to use the binkie though.
• will wake up if Jack cries too long (they're still sleeping in the same crib).
• starting to be wary of strangers.
• size 2 diapers.
• able to be distracted with toys or other objects when he's upset.
• loooves rice cereal. he'll even moan in satisfaction as he audibly gulps it down. gets mad when he sees jack eating inbetween his servings (we feed them at the same time a la "one for you and one for you" style).

• wakes mckay if he cries too long.
• able to be distracted with toys or other objects when he's upset.
• loves to play. loves to bounce. loooooves the exersaucer.
• chews on his fingers not suck--chews. all of them some of them. sometimes one.
• always drool on the collars of his shirts.
• morning person.
• rolls around everywhere when left on the floor.
• loves rice cereal. still trying to figure out how to get it in his mouth though (very messy eater).

kd is a mom.

the fact of the matter is...

Doug Wright is a local talk show host on KSL Radio. I don't necessarily think he's the bomb or anything, he just happens to always be talking on the radio when I'm driving in my car. He always says this phrase: "the fact of the matter is..."; "the fact of the matter is..."; "the fact of the matter is..."; and then he states something that's really obvious "bla bla bla". It's usually a person's covtroversial list of dirty laundry. Am I the only one who notices this?

It's quite irritating.

So, anyway, I was thinking. I wonder what the obvious is in our house that would merit the use of that [irritating] phrase. Is there anything in my house that an audience would hold a hand up to and gasp? Quite embarrassingly, these are the thoughts that run through my mind as I'm falling asleep, taking a shower, driving in the car, etc.

Let's try it out. (If anything, it will give you and my posterity an honest look as to what is going on inside my house at this moment). And it might make you feel a lot better about your house.

The fact of the matter is,

The laundry room looks like this right now.

The fact of the matter is,

My bed hasn't been made since October.

The fact of the matter is,

We change lots of diapers.

The fact of the matter is,   

There are always naked barbies in our shower.

Aaaaah. Glad to get that off my chest.

You should go grab your cameras and do the same. It's really easy and it feels good. It always feels good to confess, doesn't it? Show me what's going on in your house too. We can meet and discuss. confessions of a mother of twins who doesn't get out much.

I secretly like baby rice cereal. I really think it's yummy, especially when it's mixed with formula. I sneak bites of it while Lynn is taking pictures of the boys during their meal time.

4 going on 16.

It was 3:45 in the afternoon. I was piddling around the house when Hollynd came up to me in her best Sunday dress, a necklace, sparkly shoes, her favorite headband holding a black sash from another dress asking me this:

"Mommy, will you please tie this on me and then call Diego to come play with me? I need a dancing partner. I'm all dressed up and ready for him to come over."

How could I resist? I called Diego's mom (our next-door neighbor who obliged happily. After hanging up the phone, I turned around and found Hollynd "brooming" the floor (as she calls it).

She said, "Mommy, I'm cleaning up for Diego to come over."

Picking up a piece of paper and a dirty bib, she added, "will you please put this away so our house will not look like it is messy for when he comes over?"

She got her wish.

And, may I add, Diego really knew his dancing moves. I was very impressed with his sense of rhythm. He even knew how to turn her!

 

I hope this afternoon's events don't go against the guidelines as outlined in the Strength of Youth pamphlet.
