Never attempt to pose 4 babies at the same time. Never. Sometimes I forget to follow my own rule of "never posing" subjects. It's un-natural and the photos end up looking robotic, right? This was one of those times I forgot. I don't know why I thought it would work. I was soon reminded why I have that rule. They naturally want to be natural, right? Just follow the babies, just follow the babies.
The second from the left is my sweet neighbor. The rest are her cousins. They are all about the same age (within a month of each other--I think!) so their mommies wanted to get their picture taken. Super fun! They were great. Enjoy your photos, Annette (and all her sisters)!
This is a perfect example of irony in photography. A lot of photographers think that you must follow "the rules" of photography every time. For example, in this case, one would probably think, "all the babies should be looking at the camera and smiling to have the best picture." This one proves that rule false. I think only one of the babies was actually looking into the camera, none of them were smiling and this was one of my favorites. Of course, photography, as all walks of art, is subjective but that one up there really did capture the moment and personifies what it's really like to be a baby--circa 10 months with a camera stuck in your face.
Perfectly imperfect. That's what I like.
