Lots of stuff to report today. We went to have another ultra-sound yesterday! Wanna' see pictures?!! OK:
JK. I haven't scanned the photos yet so maybe you will see real pictures tomorrow. The doctor said everything is super perfect. However, I don't think 4 little baby feet tap dancing on my bladder is exactly super. HA--oh well! They are growing swell; all the measurements of the body parts (heart, spine, cranium, cerebelum, bladder, stomach, femurs) look great. Baby A is about 12 oz. and Baby B is about 13 oz. So, pretty much, I'm carrying around two cans of Shasta Root Beer in my stomach right now. The doctor said that there's about a 40-50% chance of them being identical. This is how they figure: she said that 20% of identical twins were dichorionic-diamniotic (2 sacs, 2 placentas) in the womb. Because they are the same sex and they are growing pretty much at the same rate ups that percentage to 40-50% that they will be identical. Whatever. I was never really good at math.
Another good part about yesterday's visit, besides the reassurance that everything is swell, is that I finally got one of my biggest questions answered. For the last month it has been driving me crazy that I haven't really felt them move. I mean, you would think that if I've got about 12 inches of baby in me that I would atleast be able to feel a distinct something. I haven't though. In fact, the lack of movement has been the root of most all my worries and anxiety about this pregnancy. I'm always pretty sure that something is wrong and it's a terrible feeling to have. The doctor told me the reason why I'm not feeling movement is because I have a big pillow inbetween my abdominal wall and the babies--the 2 placentas! Duh. Strangely enough, sometimes placentas plant themselves in the front and the moms have a hard time feeling their babies at first. For me to actually be able to feel them move, they have to punch and kick hard enough for me to feel it through the two placentas! I felt sooo much better after hearing that. sigh.
In other news...
Independence Day was a few days ago and I haven't said anything about it. I didn't take any pictures except for this one:
(Look how pretty she is!) That pretty much summed up our 4th of July. We came back into the family room after we walked the last group of friends to the door and we found her sleeping soundly--I guess we wore her out! We did a lot that day. It was so much fun having the Smith's, The Sorenson's, The Buckley's, The Robert's, The Burgon's and Shayn & Kristen's families over. We had tons of food, fireworks, games, slip n' slide and yummy caramel apples (thanks to Sara Smith)--yum yum! Earlier that day we went out to breakfast with the Smith's; went for a drive out to Pine Canyon; bought a treat at Leatherby's in Tooele; then drove through Middle Canyon on through to home just in time for a short nap before everyone came over. It was an excellent 4th. Kristen has some great pictures from our evening.
Other happenings: Lynn got a new bike for his birthday. I know it's late but what's a crazy mom to do? He's been wanting a nice one to cross-train for the St. George Marathon. He's not ready for biker spandex shorts yet. Dang. Ha!
Now, for my favorite. Addie and Hollynd made me and Lynn into little apricot men today. Addie, all by herself, while we were elsewhere in the house doing some jobs, went and snatched the apricots off the kitchen counter and all the supplies (toothpicks, raisins, pralines, charleston chews and straws) and went to town. Of course, Hollynd, her accomplice was obliged to help. They are so darn creative, I just love it!
Here is their presentation:
This one is me:

This one is Lynn:
Here we are all together with Hollynd's fox who eventually chased us around and ate us:
Oh, I almost forgot. I made bread today! And it worked!!!!! Go me! Thanks for the recipe Anika! Thanks for the help Holly!
