runs in place when excited.

pants like a puppy when excited.

spits from the back of his throat like a German when he wants to say something.

stiffens his backs and almost falls backwards when being held.

stiffens his back when he's lying down--like he's just wants to get up and start walking somewhere.

needs to be wrapped in a blanket to go to sleep but beginning to resist swaddling.

smiles at everyone.

notices hands more.

will sit in front of the fish tank in his bumbo chair and stare at it for almost an hour.

always happy when he wakes up from naps and in the morning.

laughs for no reason.

does not like tummy time.

swipes at toys.

notices mckay a little more but always looks around him.

always laughs at addie and hollynd.

spits like nobody's business.

McKay

13 pounds 10 ounces (30%)

mellow.

tightens lips and almost goes cross-eyed when concentrating.

speaks softly. sounds like an owl when he wants to say something, "woo, wooo, weeeoow".

really notices jack and always smiles and stares at him.

always laughs at hollynd and addie.

does well on his tummy. usually rolls over.

loves that right fist. starting to use left hand.

sucks on thumbs and fingers to pacify himself when binky is nowhere to be found.

loves to cuddle.

sensitive to loud noises.

hair getting lighter. but still no hair.

humms and groans for about 10 minutes before falling to sleep.

does not like the bath.

grumpy in the morning.

happiest after mid-morning nap.

so so very very blessed blessed.

Very exciting to have 2 boys blessed on the same day. One is always exciting but 2 is like super super exciting! Some of you couldn't make it because you were stuck in South America or something (likely story). There were some parts I wanted to remember so I decided to blog about them...

Look how handsome all the Bowler boys are. Speaking of handsome, Lynn did well. He makes it look so effortless. There was a strong spirit there, I will always remember it. I always say I'm not going to go up and say my testimony on my kids' blessing days because it always seems so cliche. I always end up doing it though (I know, "nerd"), just like I said I would never drive a Suburban or a mini-van. Lynn bore his first then I went up a little while later.

McKay's blessing:

• health and strength (he had a cold--glad it was mentioned)
• go on a mission
• take a sweetheart through the temple to be sealed together
• that many people will come to know the gospel through him
• have the strength to overcome the ways of the world
• be best friends with his brother (of course nothing could hold back the tears after that one)

After his blessing, Lynn held him up and he coughed the cutest little baby coughs. It made the congregation giggle.

Here is Jack's:

Of course Jack was just happy to be held by all the pretty ladies. Glad to have lots of family and a few friends visit including Haylie's mom, Jena, Matt and Kristi and their kids, Haylie's dad, Shayn and Kristen and Alpine, Cody and Judy, Chase, The Smith Family, President and Sister Longhurst. We missed Lynn's parents, Susan, Kendall, pregnant Kaydee and Casey. It's OK though, that's why we have blogs and email.

3 months.

McKay

• Favorite food: milk.
• Sleep: still not predictable. Takes about 3 naps/day; sleeps through the night about 3 times/week. Won't go to bed sometimes until 3 am (but wakes up at about noon)!
• Very social. Smiles and laughs all the time especially to his sisters and pretty women (likes to show off his unique and irresistable dimple on his forehead).
• Head still turns to the right. (Physical therapy starts next week).
• Loves his binky.
• Very cuddly.
• 3-6 month clothes. Some 0-3.
• Size 1 diapers.
• About 12 pounds.
• Still very much a sweetheart. Asks very nicely for a milky, a cuddle or for someone to just pick him up just by smiling and cooing.
• Content to lay on a blanket spread out on the floor. ad
• Doesn't like loud noises like me yelling for the girls to come downstairs.
• Still never spits up.
• Difficult to burp but when he does he belches like he's 70.

Jackson

• Favorite food: milk.
• Sleep: predictable. Dozes off a few times a day; sleeps through the night a few times a week (still working on night feeding weaning--binky is starting to work. Still have to get up to give it to him though). Always goes down for the night between 8-9 pm.
• Very social and happy. Loves it when his sisters talk to him.
• Laughs EVERY time his diaper is changed.
• Likes to sleep with his head turned to the left.
• Loves his binky.
• 0-3 month clothes. Some 3-6 month.
• Size 1 diapers.
• About 10.5 pounds
• Still very feisty. However, very content little boy. He will wake up and is just fine to hang out in his bed for awhile before he calls for someone. BUT--when he calls for someone, you sure do know it!
• Clothes always wet around the neck from spitting up. Not in any pain though. Just likes to spit.

Sorry I haven't posted in a couple weeks. Here's a quick update:

After 4 weeks and one day of hospital food, I am home.

The babies were born 10-23-07

Randy McKay (baby A--on the right) born 8:07 am -- 6 lbs. 11 oz.

Jackson Tad (baby B) born 8:08 am -- 5 lbs. 4 oz.

I'm doing fine. Just resting so I can heal up.

Jack is doing great. After a week he is back up to his birth weight. He's really taking after his dad. Not only does he have some very cute dimples, he also likes to party at night, flirt with the girls and eat, eat, eat. OK, maybe not so much like Lynn but he is cute. He looks a lot like Addie when she was a baby.

McKay is still in the NICU. He has been in there since he was born. He had pneumonia. Not sure if he had it en utero or if it was from swallowing fluid during birth. He's done with the antibiotics and we are now just waiting for him to get off the oxygen. He is doing well and showing signs of improvement everyday. His favorite things to do are eat, eat, eat and smile while he's asleep. He looks a lot like Hollynd. I am very anxious to get him home. Lynn and I (aka Winder Dairy) try and visit him as much as possible. Thanks for all your prayers for him!

We feel tremendously blessed to have these little tykes with us. We are very excited to watch them grow and of course get into trouble.

Addie and Hollynd have been a great help and are very excited to have their brothers here and their mom at home finally (me too).

Thanks very much for all the help we have received. After having this experience, it has become very apparent at how blessed we are. We have so many wonderful neighbors, friends and family. I have also been under the care of many wonderful doctors and nurses for the past month. Thank you, thank you! Lynn is especially grateful for all the help he received while I was in the hospital. There's no way we could have pulled that off without all the great people around us.
